How Can hip And Knee Arthritis be Treated?

My mom has arthritis in hip and knee and in extreme pain. Orthopedic doctor says we can get cortisone shot see how she does, and then do surgery. She has dementia which affects after care if has surgery. I don t understand , isn t cortisone injection only temporary?

Hello,

I think she can take corticosteroid injections periodically. Also can benefit from the Hyaluronic Acid injection.

She also can use anti-inflammatory drugs such as Advil or Naproxen for pain.
